Subject: RE: Alcohol I just fell onto this thread and have to admit that I passed on a lot of the science-based material. I tend to choose my drinks based on how they'll make me feel the next morning, which I think is as, if not more, important than how the body processes the calories. It should be noted that moderation is not my strong point, so I may very well be coming from a different perspective. So...
Dark liquors - bad hangover, bad memories and no working out the next day Light liquors - good times, light hangover and a gentle day of working out Dark beer - Can't drink many, stops me from getting too drunk, decent next day workout Light beer - game on next day - might be a little dizzy but that just makes it more fun?? IPAs - I love these, which is apparently the problem... avoid eye contact with me for the next day... horrible Wine - I can't drink much of the stuff, so I'm good to go the next day.
Another exercise - subtract the number of hours you were drinking from six. Then divide this number by six. That is the percentage of the next day's planned workout that you will be able to complete. This is all very technical, and I don't have time to break out the logarithms, but it is fairly accurate.
Have a good day! |
