![]() Swim
Comments: First snake swim I have done and it wasn't too hard. I was very pleased with the speed of my swim and actually passed two people. My breathing was even, and felt good coming out of the water. What would you do differently?: Remember my goggles. The start of the swim was running late so I was able to grab my goggles from my car before we began. (just not use to a pool swim start) ![]() Transition 1
Comments: Transition times were not broken out, so it go mixed with the bike time What would you do differently?: First time transitioning with clip in shoes. Was tough to run out of the transition, so I'll have to work on that. Also I am still slow clipping in once I get on the bike. Other then that the transition went quick. ![]() Bike
Comments: I was going much faster then I am accustomed to because there was no one around me to pace me. The one time I had someone in front of me they took wrong turn (story of the day) so I lost a minute there. What would you do differently?: Make sure I know the course, and keep my pace under control. ![]() Transition 2
Comments: Transition times were not broken out, so it go mixed with the bike time What would you do differently?: Another good transition for me. Was still tough to run in clip the bike shoes, but other then that it was nice transition. ![]() Run
Comments: Only ran half of the wrong way because I took a wrong turn. The course was in the shape of an eight and the part where the two line meet is where I got turned around. There was a water stop there, go my water and ended up going back towards the finish. (no runners were around and the people at the water stop didn't correct me, so I thought that was the right way) What would you do differently?: KNOW THE COURSE! I was on pace for a 28 minute 5k so I marked that as my time. (ran after the race to make up for the missed running) :-( ![]() Post race
Warm down: Water a couple bananas and walking around. What limited your ability to perform faster: Missing a turn, and hamstring was still a little sore (but not bad) Event comments: Most of the people I talked to found the course a little difficult to follow. There were volunteers at major intersections, but was tough to follow in other areas. Since everyone is so spread out on these snake swims it is harder for people to follow each other. Lessoned learned, know the course especially on snake swim starts! Last updated: 2009-04-21 12:00 AM

Breakfast two hours before, and a snack 30 minutes before the swim. Spent the rest of the time setting up transition area and talking to people. Sucks to get up that early, but very relaxing to get everything done and out of the way. (no rushing)
None - Pool swim, short sprint, didn't do a warmup
