Pre-race routine:

Woke up and double checked all my gear and loaded up the car. Ate a PBJ sandwich and some cookies.
Event warmup:

Stretched and jogged about 800 meters. Continued to sip fluids.

Passed alot of people on run as it's my stronger event. Fastest run time for the first event yet. I actually broke 7 min and that includes the transition time to the bike.
What would you do differently?:

Nothing, but keep training to get faster.

Course: Three loops of equal length. Hilly once again, but not as bad as last race. About 700 meters of nasty cobble stones through town which are rough on the bike.

Great job.  The bike will sort itself out soon enough, but I think you are in a great position if the run is where you are strongest.  The run is usually where the race is won or lost.  I bet the lungs are feeling better too now that you have not smoked for over 2 months.  Look forward to seeing you build on this race and keep kicking butt.
