Subject: Newbie from Allen Texas
I have been a competive swimmer since I was little and have always loved biking. So when I saw the 2008 Ironman World Championship on TV a while back I knew that I had finally found my sport. I currently ride my old mountain bike as I don't have the money to buy a road bike so any advice on how so manage this sport on limited funds would be appreciated. I am aiming to compete in a Sprint Triathlon in September so any advice would be great. I am a walking sponge.

Welcome to BT.  This is a great resource for anyone interested in triathlons.  Look around and ask questions.  Use the equipment you have and you will appreciate better bikes, etc. when you upgrade.  Set realistic goals and have fun.
