Run
Comments: Made sure to pick a water or a Gatorade about every other station. Right from the start, I set out to run at a comfortable pace and not push until I got far enough along that I could push harder and still finish without walking. I didn't know it, but my comfortable pace for this event turned out to be keeping pace with the 7:00/mile Pacer/Group! I didn't know if I could last, but it was comfortable. What would you do differently?: Nothing!!!!! I set a new PR, and I am absolutely stoked right now. Being a few hours after the race, I feel great. Sore, but I can walk fine and I'm still pretty energetic. The new PR and my lack of pain and fatigue HAVE to be a direct result of the 1/2 Marathon Training Plan I used to get ready for this season. THANKS BT! Post race
Warm down: I felt pretty good and grabbed more water, and 2 bananas. I should have stretched out after, but I didn't. What limited your ability to perform faster: No limiters at all. Got up really late (6:00am) for the 7am start. Had a good drink of water, got to the potty (twice). I didn't have a good feeling about this issue for the event. Got in the car, parked under Michigan Avenue, and luckily avoided the long line to parking at event. Scoped out the race site, took a pic and got in line for the start.
Absolutely nothing. Bounced around a bit waiting for the gun.
