Overcast
Total Time = 1h 05m 37s
Overall Rank = 67/196
Age Group = Clydesdale
Age Group Rank = 6/19
Pre-race routine:

Bagel and some water 30 minutes b4 the swim
Event warmup:

None, just walking around
Swim
  • 04m 3s
  • 250 yards
  • 01m 37s / 100 yards
Comments:

When I registered two months ago I was a lot slower at swimming, so I was slotted in the wrong place. (was in the 6 minute time group)
What would you do differently?:

If I ever do another tri with a pool swim make sure I am grouped in the right time.
Transition 1
  • 01m 45s
Comments:

No transition time, estimated.
What would you do differently?:

Since this was a practice race I wasn't moving as quick. I was actually walking to the transition area :-)
Bike
  • 31m 15s
  • 9.3 miles
  • 17.86 mile/hr
Comments:

Nice short easy ride. My chain popped off going up a hill, so I lost a minute getting it back on.
What would you do differently?:

Push a little bit harder. The last two miles I was just taking it easy and following someone. Could have passed him, but didn't.
Transition 2
  • 01m 5s
What would you do differently?:

I was happy with this transition. Still slow getting out of bike shoes, but will come with time.
Run
  • 27m 25s
  • 3.1 miles
  • 08m 50s  min/mile
Comments:

I always feel like I am running soooo slow, but it is all in my mind. Felt good on the run, but the theme of the day was I could have pushed it much more.
What would you do differently?:

Pick up the pace
Post race
Warm down:

Walking around, really need to do more of a warm down

What limited your ability to perform faster:

Swim seeding, chain popping off, and taking a relaxed attitude.

Event comments:

A little disorganized at the start. (no pre race meeting, packet pickup was only available on day of) Once the race started it was VERY organized. Very good prep race
