Pre-race routine:

domestic dispute in hotel room across from mine, so at 3 in the morning I was sitting there watcing cops :(

a lady and her husband got into it, and the husband was trying to kick the door down and our room was shaking for a good 30 min.

Went to lobby of hotel ate a scoop of endurox, a bagel, a muffin, and a danish (im 14 and growing)
Event warmup:

Jogged .5 miles in parking-lot, very nervous due to my hip. Im 14 and was in 19 & under with a hip problem where I shouldnt even be doing anything right now. Going to a new doc this week though.
Run
  • 09m 54s
  • 1.5 miles
  • 06m 36s  min/mile
Comments:

The start was insane, it started on top of a hilly field, all 140 of us were all trying to be first onto a 8foot wide path.
What would you do differently?:

If I could change anything I would have sprinted as hard as I could and gritted my teeth through the whole thing.
Transition 1
  • 01m 35s
Comments:

Dont have tri specific shoes yet, so I had to take my shoes off and put on bike shoes, which due to time went on loose..
What would you do differently?:

Tightend my shoes more

Comments:

There was a lady who I couldnt pass, we were bothing just going for 20mph avg. Had some nice "Good Jobs" then I dropped her in the last mile
What would you do differently?:

rode harder
Transition 2
  • 00m 40s
Comments:

Almost ran off with my helmet, water bottle got tossed on ground, NO DRINK for the run. My mouth was so dry I couldnt even spit.
What would you do differently?:

rode in on pedals (need tri shoes)

Comments:

hip was killing me by the .75 mile marker
I could see the person in the 19&under about to take first and I got energy from somewhere deep inside and sprinted up the last hill and he just said "go go go" so I went
What would you do differently?:

gotten bionic legs :)
Post race
