Pre-race routine:

Water and cereal about 1.5 hours before, Gu 30 minutes before.
Event warmup:

Little jog.
  • 33m 6s
  • 3.11 miles
  • 10m 38s  min/mile

My goal was a sub 35, to start out slow and leave some for the end. I shaved over 4 minutes off my last 5K which was 4 weeks ago! I am very happy with my time.

This was my first race with husband and son, we all got PBs, it was awesome sharing the morning with them.
Saw my guys when they were on their way back which was great, then ran into my run coach on the route. Knew several people there, a good time.
What would you do differently?:

Practice hills which is difficult here in Houston.
Post race
Warm down:

The race finished in the stadium and it was like a sauna! VERY humid.
Free food was awesome water, fruit, Pei Wei, kolaches and beer!

Event comments:

I wish there weren't so many people, the beginning of the run was very crowded but it's a popular race and I knew that.
