There is no formally organized triathlon club here, however, the multisport community is fairly close, and once you start to get your name and email address out there, you can receive emails and notices on upcoming events and training sessions. There are organized groups for all three of the individual sports, and a lot of the local triathletes are members of some of them. If you really want to find out more, drop me a line. |

Nautilus Running club seems to have a lot of triathletes. I am planning to join them now that I have gotten this Half Mary out of the way. There is a brand new triclub (www.stjohnstriclub.com) and it has its application already into TriNL (Triathlon Newfoundland and Labrador). It has 25 members already (and it is not even a formal club). The folks that have put it together are quite active builders for tri in the province. | 1 | Subject: RE: St.John's Newfoundland . I'm arriving in St. John's about a week before the race. First time there, and I'm doing the sprint triathlon. I looked at the maps online. Can anyone tell me what the bike course is like? How steep and how long are the two hills at the end of the course? Also for the open swim, I'll be wearing a shortie wet-suit - I don't know the thickness in millimeters, but I think it's a thin one. Is it true the water temperature will be about 20 degrees celsius in Healey Pond? |
