Pre-race routine:

Got up @ 5:20, way too late for a 7AM start. Hustled to get out the door. Managed to get down my normal supplements. Also had a V8 and an EAS Whey Protein shake for breakfast. Ended up getting onsite about 6:20. Had WAY more than enough time.
Event warmup:

I thought I was going to be starting @ 7, so I didn't get much warm up. Managed to get some stretching in- arms, glutes, hams, back, and quads. Not as much as I would have liked, but adequate. Pays to wake up early and not hit snooze!

Comments:

Awesome job by me on this. I couldn't find my bike @ first, but overall a really great transition. Best I've ever done.

Comments:

Never got any momentum. Felt like I was moving fast but the time would indicate otherwise.
What would you do differently?:

Do the course beforehand. And spend more time on the bike!!!!
Transition 2
  • 02m 12s
Comments:

Slow as hell. Need to work on this transition a lot.
What would you do differently?:

Practice a lot more.

Comments:

Thought I was running a lot faster than I actually was!!!! Dead tired by the last mile. Don't know what happened here- I actually felt good.

Event comments:

Always a fun race that's close to home. Definitely will be doing it again next year.

Hey nice race Matt!  Looks like we're pretty closely matched, although I think you would have landed in a faster lane

Found out afterward destriero and I swam in the same lane together.

I'm not doing Tri-in-July because of Boulder Peak the week before, but am registered for the Splash-Mash-Dash.
