Pre-race routine:

Woke up around 06:15, ate breakfast, took a shower, got ready and drove down to Wymore.

Event warmup:

Got registered, stretched and jogged a little bit. Talked to Jeff, Justin, Clayton, Dave, Jake, and Angey.

Comments:

Run felt pretty good. At the start there were 2 high school age cross country kids that took off like shot. I ran shoulder-to-shoulder with another cross country kid for about the first 1.25 miles, then he broke away. Made the turn around and headed back in. With about 1/2 mile to go, a guy in my age group caught up to me and got a couple strides ahead of me. I told myself I was going to win my age group and that was that. Put the hammer down and sprinted for the finish, ended up beating the guy by like 20 seconds. Won my AG and PR'd my 5k!

What would you do differently?:

Walked around and stretched a little. Got a drink. Waited for the rest of the crew to finish.
