Chickened out.  I planned on doing it as my first tri, but after reading about it I thought I would be better off doing the Camp P sprint as my first.  Plus it was hard to fork out the $120 entry fee.  Maybe next year.

I'm in.  I grew up in Mission Viejo and watched my first tri there 20+ years ago.  I've always wanted to do this tri and then it stopped for years.  Last year I was focused on running and not tri's but this year I'm ready (at least as ready as I'm gonna be.)

Went to sign up today and saw the 160.00 price tag.  Even with discounts, 148.00 plus fees is outragous.  For a 70.3 I can see that price but for an oly. I am taking issue.  I've got to find another race.

That price scared me off too!  The LA (Kaiser) tri has that steep of a entry fee too.  Crazy!  Do the Camp Pendleton Sprint August 8th--1/2 the price!

After looking at my options, I'm doing the Big Rock Tri at Lake Perris (Early Nov.) and the Tinsel Tri in Hemet for the cost of the OC Tri.   I did the Tinsel Sprint last year and had a blast so I figure I can't loose.

Hey!

Was thinking of signing up for this race. Have only done sprint distance (just finished Camp Pendleton sprint today!).

Whats this course like? Challenging? Hilly? They really don't do a very good job of describing the course on the website. How about water temp? Do you think a wetsuit is necessary?

Thanks!
