Has anyone raced The Patriot sprint in Bath PA?  Just curious what others thoughts were on it.  I have not raced it yet, but I am thinking about scheduling it for this year (August 2nd).

Hey JD!  I'm glad to see you're hooked!

When/where is this race?  What is the distance, etc?  Do you have a link to the race website?

I spectated this course last year. It was a really well run race. Varying terrain on the bike and a good run course. I'm racing it this year. The only thing about the race is that it is hot and humid, but that's expected for here. I think it is a 650 meter/15.2 mile/3 mile race.

I helped create the sprint tri run course back in the day but don't know if they kept it the same. for the sprint the swim is a little manmade fishing pond, the bike is rolling hills and has some technical turns in it to keep it interesting. the 5k was an out and back with rolling hills.

no idea what course the half lite is

the race is up in scenic Bath, Pa

I have friends that did the half lite last year.  They said the bike course was rolling and fast downhills with wicked scary twists and turns.  Overall a good race and I wish I could do it this year!

Just wondering if there are any other BT'ers going to be at Patriot this weekend. I'm in for the Sprint - kind of a last-minute decision, and mainly doing it for fun/practice. Anybody else gonna be there?

How did everyone fare today? As the sprint racers were under the big yellow tent for awards when the skies opened up again (and you half-iron lite racers were finishing your bike leg...) I was REALLY glad I opted for the sprint! We got of pretty easy - it was mostly dry (a little bit of drizzly rain, that's about it) for pretty much the entire sprint. Pretty crazy weather!!

gotta say flying those downhills in the driving rain w/ thunder booming overhead was the most fun I had in a long time. In my right mind I won't ride or run in a thunderstorm but rest of the kids were doing it so I went along too. it was great fun and big thanks to all the volunteers that stuck around (especially the guy w/ the tractor)

Wet!  I noticed on my third lap of the bike that even the horses went inside the barn...they must've thought we were crazy.  Fun day, nonetheless.  Personally i prefer rain to high heat.  The biggest challenge was getting the car out of mud-lot without getting stuck!

That was definitely one of the more memorable events I've done! I told my wife as we watched the kids splashing in the mud after I finished that being out there on the bike / run and splashing puddles as lightning and thunder crashed made me like a kid myself! I've gotta agree, the volunteers and race directors were great. Now, how can I get a job as weather forecaster.....make a lot of money to be WRONG ALL THE TIME!

Great job to everyone who even started (and finished).
