Comments:

The course was a little wet from all of the rain we have had, it was also a chilly 42 degrees which was a bit of a challenge to dress for. I started slow and picked up my pace as the race went on. I had fun at the race, it was a real challenge, and I think it will help me prepare for my 1/2 Iron in June. That was about 10 sec per mile faster than I have done in training. I am pleased.
Post race
Warm down:

Walked the half mile to the fairground parking, then drove 1.5 hours home. Got very tight sitting in the car.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

I could have pushed a little more on the first half and not hurt myself. This was my first longer race, and I was very concerned about blowing up on the second half.

Event comments:

Great race, worth doing again (just hope for nicer weather)

Awesome Half-Mary Matt!! I totally forgot that you were doing this race. Definiltely looks like the kind of race like that will put a lot into the mental bank account for your Half IM next month!
