I'm thinking about doing a couple runs at Wachusett Mountain's access road this coming Saturday, rain or shine, probably with a little bit of riding before and after to warm up/cool down.  Maybe finish up with a run up the road...?

Anyways, it's a bit over 1000' in 4 miles - people can check out the hill profile at this website: http://www.northeastcycling.com/Mtn_Climbs.html.

I haven't done anything with the MA BT crew, so I figured I'd toss out the open invite.  I'm hoping to go rain or shine because I'd really like to ride Wachusett and I may be starting a weekend job soon, so it'll be harder to get up there.

I'd suggest double checking if it is open.

My bike race team (NEBC) posted a few weeks ago that it was closed due to construction and a cyclist did something dangerous so they even stopped cyclists from going up either road.

Thanks very much for the info.  Ending up there without a road to ride on would be a bit of a disappointment.  I'll be sure to call beforehand, and'll let people know what they say.

I was told by a friend who rides it all the time (or used to) that it's closed for at least a year.

I just got off the phone with them.  They're definitely closed, tentatively until August.  The reason he gave me was that they're burying electical wiring, so the road is a bit of a mess.
