Subject: Triathlon Watch Recommendation and Interval Timer QuestionHi, fellow triathletes! So, here's my question: last season I trained with a friend who had a sports watch (Timex Ironman, I think) which had a timer, but the cool thing was that the timer would go off at varying times. For example, she could set it to go off after two minutes, then one minute, then two minutes again, then one minute... 2-1-2-1-2-1... etc. This allowed us to run for 2 minutes, then do a 1-minute walk recovery. (Neither of us are runners to begin with!) I think you could set the intervals for whatever times you wanted. I thought this was the greatest thing ever, but I don't know how to find another watch with the same feature! I've seen some Timex Ironman watches advertised with a feature called "dual timer" or sometimes "2 interval timer". Do these terms both mean the same thing? I would think "dual timer" just means the watch has 2 separate timers. (The benefit being that you could store whatever interval time you wanted and wouldn't have to re-program the thing every time you wanted to use the timer feature.) "2 Interval Timer" sounds like a better description of the feature I am looking for, but I don't know exactly what it means, or if it's just the another way of saying "dual timer." If anyone can fill me in, I would really, really appreciate it! Also, if you have another brand/style to recommend, I'm all ears! Thanks so much! P.S. I DID ask my friend, and she has no idea what the feature is called, nor has the old packaging! Edited by piscis18 2009-06-17 10:13 PM
