Any floridians got any tips for going over the drawbridges that don't have the concrete strips on them?

I've seen some folks get shredded by falling on those bad-boys.  Didn't know if I should keep pedaling, just hold on, what I should do?

2 tips:

1 - don't fall
2 - avoid them if they're wet and you have slick tires (MTB knobbies ok)

If you're not comfortable the best suggestion is to walk them on the sidewalk side and if there's no one coming at you, just ride the sidewalk.

I have never had any problems or heard such stories - might be a legend kinda thing.

Keep tri-ing

Definitely not a legend.  A Team in Training lady ate it this weekend, one of my training buddies ate it last fall,  I hear from some folks it's about 1 per month during the summer.

Someone told us to humm as you go across. not sure what this does but my wife feels it helps her. they are super slick in the rain. I agree if you are worried walk across, it wont hurt your time as much as a wipeout.
