New 4 race Splash & Dash series starts next Thursday, 6/25. Anybody in? First time something like this has been in Colorado Springs and it would be great to support the RD. I figure this will help with my OWS for the 5430 series and other tris I'm doing.

Entry form is here:

Yup the wife (hotrodmeg) and I signed up last night at CRC.  The RD is my wife's coach and she's put on races there before.  Although the water at Prospect isn't exactly what I call ideal it should be a good series. I'm doing the 1500 and Meg's doing the 750. How 'bout you?

I signed up for the 1500. I figure these will be good training for the Boulder Peak and 5430 long courses. I think the water in Prospect Lake is just fine. Not much different than any other lake in Colorado and much better than some I've done tris in.

I'm new to the triathlon this year but will be signing up for this series to try and improve my OWS.  A sprint in Boulder was my first OWS (and my first experience in my wet suit)....after 300 meters I thought I was going to quit!  I felt much more  comfortable in the Kansas 70.3 last week.  Hopefully swimming in Prospect Lake will keep adding to my comfort level.

Thanks for posting this Don! I'm signing up for three of the races (I'll be out of town for one of them... bummer!) Hope to see you all out there Thursday!

That was fun. Nice meeting both Lodewey and Kilo Dave. The water was about as nice as I've ever seen it. Visibility was much better than the Boulder Res. The event had a few minor hiccups as is normal for a first time race, but it will only get better.

I hope to see more people out there for the next race.

I had a lot of fun -- although it appears that I was one of the only BOP swimmers to sign up for the 1500! I'm not usually that far in the BOP! But it will just motivate me to get faster!

Nice to meet you Don and Dave!

Results are up for the second race.

My guess is the swim course was closer to 1800 meters. That's what I'm using as the distance.

Wow, I should have checked here sooner.  I didn't know this thread was here.  I have signed up for these races and I have enjoyed the two that I have done so far.  I am looking forward to the last one as I am finally going to do the 1500.

Thanks to the RDs for putting this on.  I wish we had more things like this in COS!
