Subject: Good Eats
I posted these two on another thread and thought, maybe I'll see who else may be making these, or, better yet, I would like it if you shared your homemade ideas with the rest of us.  I can't say I invented either of these, but who knows where I picked them up but they are both excellent snack/meals and very healthy.  Please share some of yours if you have any that you think people may not know about.
1.)  Sliced Gala Apples with Natural Creamy Peanut Butter and Raisens.

2.)  Sliced Banana on Whole Wheat or Whole Grain Bread with Creamy Natural Peanut Butter and Honey.

If you have never tried these, you should, they are really good and really good for you.

OOOOOO nomnomnom!  I love apples & peanut butter & never thought to add raisins.  And I can't get enough of bananas.  Thanks for the ideas!

As far as my own recipe, I make whole wheat Banana Pancakes:
  • 1 cup whole wheat flour
  • 1 tbsp raw sugar (or agave syrup)
  • 2 tsp baking powder
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • Dash of vanilla
  • 1 egg, beaten
  • 1 cup milk or soy milk
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 2 ripe bananas, mashed
Combine the dry ingredients in one bowl.  In another bowl, combine the wet stuff (agave syrup goes here if you use it instead of sugar).   Mash the banana in the wet stuff. Mix the wet into the dry to make batter.  Cook like normal pancakes. You can freeze them to heat later too.

They are awesome wrapped around scrambled eggs & bacon  :-)

Thanks, I do quite a bit of cooking and I know what I'm having for breakfast this Sunday.    I don't know that I've seen Agave Syrup around the MD area, though I've never actually sought it out either, I will see if I can find it!

whole foods carries agave - & sometimes natural sections of regular grocery stores.  LMK how you like the recipe if you try it!
