Subject: What training to do between events
I am doing a 20 week half ironman training plan that will finish exactly on race day Oct 4 Gold Coast Half Ironman. My issue is I am doing Noosa which is an Olympic distance tri 4 weeks later on Nov 1. What should I do between events to freshen up and work on speed for the shorter race?

you won't be able to do too much in between. it's only 4 weeks and your 1st is a HIM; which takes the majority of people one week to be 100% recovered from.

Honestly, I think the one thing that will maker sure you do that OLY as fast as possible is making sure you recover fully from the HIM.  There's not much training you can do in that month that will make a difference in terms of upping your speed, but there's a lot you can do that will really, really hurt you.

Take it EASY and let your body recover.
