Subject: RE: Unbelievable CdA videoAll of us, especially in longer races like Ironmans, have probably done things that could have caused others to crash (and in my experience/opinion it's usually the person that causes the crash that is not fine moreso than the victim). It's a risk we all take in any race, that our races may be ended by another's mistake and in the interest of full disclosure, I came close to taking some girl out at Eagleman after I swerved a bit grabbing a bottle at an aid station on a narrow road- she went into the grass and was able to recover without crashing. If she reads this, it was totally my error and I'm sorry. Stuff happens, and I made sure to apologize and had she crashed, I would have made sure to stop, as I have in a race before where I was just a witness and not the cause of the accident.
That's what bothers me the most about the video, not that he caused her to crash, but that he continued on without stopping, when he had to have known what happened. Had he stopped and made sure that she was okay etc., then it just would have been a stupid mistake on his part, not a lack of character on his part. He did finish, according to ST. As far as the woman involved, does anyone know how she is and if she finished (not looking for names, just hoping she is okay)?
