Subject: Inversion Tables? Anyone?
Anyone use a inversion table for back health/wellness?

Have seen reports, just like with anything, for the good and bad of inversion.

I did a search. Didn't find anything.

Thanks, Joe

Yup...I do!  I have a Teeter Hangup model and I use it every morning...without fail.  I have chronic low back issues (grade 2 spondylolisthesis, DDD, and spinal stenosis), and my inversion table has been a lifesaver for me.  Physical therapy did absolutely nothing for my lower back problems, so I decided to take matters into my own hands and bought the table.  It cured my horrific sciatica completely, within 3 months time.  I'll probably use that table till the day I drop dead.  That being said, they're not for everyone....so your results may vary!

Exactly what I was thinking,, my deal is so bad these days I figure it can't get any worse. Even if it helps as little as 10% I would love it.

They seem to work well from what I've seen.

My physical therapist recommended one in addition to PT.  She said she's seen them help some people quite a bit.  I don't have one yet, so no first-hand experience.

I've actually had the opposite effects that others have...rather, my husband has. He used one for a week or so and it actually put him out of commission for nearly a month. Fortunately it was during his routine seasonal layoff so it didn't affect us more than his extreme pain.

I would suggest you proceed with extreme caution because they aren't right for everyone. Get a professional opinion and instruction.

I have no doubts that there would be good and bad. Anytime you mess with the natural order of things you run that risk.

My chricto says if they worked, everyone would have one. Of course if it did work I wouldnt need him. My reg MD says try it. 2 friends have one. Both love it. One says she isn't sure it does anything. She just likes the 10 mins a day she gets of peace and quit.

Nothing to lose but $400 at this point. Is only money right?

Thank's all.....

Why not see if your friends will let you try theirs for a week or two to see if it helps before you invest $400?

I use one.  I started seeing a Chiro after my ski accident in 02 and he recommended that I try one.  I bought mine at 'Play it again sports' for $270 dollars.

BT has the Inversion Table listed in the sports section if you want to track usage.
