Try moving to Bermuda. The cost is $10 per session, and there is no coaching. SOMETIMES there is a program written on the board, but a lot of the time there isn't even that.

Given that I have the largest swimming pool in the world (aka the Atlantic Ocean) right on my doorstep (literally), I've given up on the Masters sessions and now just swim in the sea.

The program near me is also $75/month on top of the Y dues.  Sorry, can't do that.  Since we puy our youngest in daycare with his sister, we don't have a heck of a lot left!

agarose2000 - 2009-07-01 5:12 AM Correction - at UCLA, the masters team charges $840 / year for membership. Seems quite high to me - anybody beat that?

I swim at the Rose Bowl and it is $65 per month (a little less if you pay quarterly or yearly).  You get a coached workout and some feedback.  I think it is a lot of money, but I love swimming in the 50 meter pool.  There are cheaper options around, but with smaller pools.  The workouts are Monday through Saturday and I think there are three workouts per day during the week (morning, noon and night - I go in the morning only), but only morning workouts on Saturday.  I am pretty sure my pass gets me in any time they have lap swim, although I only go to the morning workouts.

The LA area seems to be high compared to the rest of the country.

$840 a year = $70 a month.

In Dallas, TX it's $65 a month.

In CA everything costs more. I'm shocked it's only $5 more a month for yours.
