Hey,

Anybody out there doing all three events?

I have no idea how many athletes signed up for each event.  Looks like 12 BTers doing the "Olympic".  I know of at least 3 others.  Less popularity among us for the sprint.  Should be a great weekend....if the rain ever stops.

tink, tink, tink....hello-o-o

Just the Oly for me.  I'm really looking forward to it after Mooseman, calf cramped during the swim and I couldn't shake it. Good Luck everyone!

Just doing the olympic. Looking forward to a warmer swim--Mooseman was chilly!! Just pulled out of Tomberman due to training problems. Anyone know of any good olympic distance races in August?

Sorry to hear about your training.

I did Cranberry Country down in MA last year and I'm doing it again this year.  We had a fantastic time and it was very well done.  Big race too, maybe 1000 in the Oly.  It's late August.  Here's the link http://www.cranberrycountrytri.com/  There was probably 20 BTrs there last year.

Whoa....you pushed the right button.  I'm in Manter.  How 'bout you?  I might go down in flames, but what a way to go!

CandyO --- the West Kennebunk Fire-Tri is a great race http://www.wkfiretri.com.Last year it was a duathlon or a sprint, but this year they added an olympic. I am planning on doing the olympic, so the more BTers the better. It is an ocean swim, and even August is a little chilly. Last year it was 65 degrees, but a lot of fun. -- great pancakes afterwards ... that is enough for me to go back.

I'll just be doing the Oly on Saturday.  Does anyone know if the waters warmed up at all?  I saw that it was only 54 degrees on Monday!  And I thought the Mooseman was freezing at 63!

I was just checking out the Endorfun forum and Keith measured the lake yesterday afternoon at 53!  So i'd expect right around there.  Yikes!

It looks like the water temp will be the same as the air temp, it is 49 in Concord this morning!

Does anybody know if polar caps and booties really make a difference when your swimming in water that cold?  I only own a farmer john style wetsuit but I rented a full wetsuit.  I'm wondering if I should get the cap and booties as well....

I've never used a neoprene cap but I'm debating getting one as well for this race.  Fast Splits better bring a big supply with them up there!  Either way, if I don't go with the neoprene, I will definitely be swimming with 2 caps.  Yikes thats cold!!!

Anybody meeting up the morning of the Int'l?  I don't know the area so it's hard to pick a spot but I'll have a BT tattoo on my calf.  Look forward to meeting everyone.
