Comments: Took a toilet break at about 6km. I really had to go and was much better off afterwards. It only cost me about 2 minutes, and I made up for it over the next 4 or 5 k's. Gel at 9km and 16.5km aid stations. What would you do differently?: Apart from trying to go to the toilet an extra time before start, probably nothing. Post race
Warm down: Struggled through recovery and had some water and food. What limited your ability to perform faster: More long tempo runs and higher intensity training for longer duration. Also probably 1 more run that was longer than the race distance too would have helped. Event comments: Race started a bit late by my watch, but not by much. Got up at 4am :( in the dark. Sunrise wasn't actually until after the race started.
Banana, yoghurt and muesli bar and coffee for breaky. Went to get the shuttle bus to rece precinct, arriving 5:30am.
Had another coffee once there and got set up. Did some jogging and dynamic warm up at about 6am. Gel and water at 6:10 and went to line up.
