I like many others started this journey to my first tri with no swim history, in fact i was afraid to get my face in the water.
I have been working at the pool and in the lake for 6 weeks now and i did it, i managed to complete my swim drill without panick and feeling tired in fact i loved every min of my swim ,granted i only did  20 laps of the 25mtr pool with a quick stop to turn but i kept my face in the water my breathing came so easy and was relaxed the whole time.
My hubby was timing me and i averaged 30sec laps, now I know for some of you this is no big deal, but, for me it is huge.
Oh and I would have done more ,only had my babies with us and had to cut the work out short.
Iam so excited, just had to share.
lol

I got some advice from a swim coach about my fears he told me to just relax and we did breathing drills just in the shallow end face in the water in swim position turning my head to the side taking air when i needed to, this helped a LOT, i also got total imersion dvd this helped me relax and not fear the water any time i get tired, and i tend to panic,
my aim at first was if i got tired to use breast stroke, but, the big thing was to complete 16 x25 mtr all front crawl, never thought i would get there, then the other day i just said you are doing this and i did.
I have to thank all the people on BT as any time i asked for advice it has been right there the swim drills i followed on my own were all thanks to some BT
lol
