Hagg Lake Sprint Tri Route

I am planning on going to Henry Hagg Lake to ride the Sprint Tri Bike Route tomorrow.  For those of you who have participated in Hagg Lake Sprint Tri or Scoggin Valley Tri am I right in that when you leave the parking area you go counterclockwise around Hagg Lake?  Is the bike portion just around the Lake or is there a piece of the route where you have to go out towards Highway 47?  I ask this because the mileage around the Lake is about 10.4 miles according to Mapmyride.  Any guidance is appreciated.
