Subject: Race wheel question...
When tubulars (on race wheels) deflate after use, do folks just store them deflated? Or is there any advantage to constantly keeping some pressure in them? I rotate them once in a while so they don't get any flat spots, but that got me wondering if I should be keeping a bit of air in them... Thoughts?  Thanks!

Cheers, Chris

I always have mine hanging up. You running Vittoria's? They nearly deflate over night.

You guessed it! Overnight deflation with the Vitt's is right Surprised- it would be a bit of a PITA to keep up with some air in them just for giggles, and frankly, I'd be concerned about the integrity of the valve extension over time with routinely mashing the pump on-&-off it.  I was thinking about hanging them up (Zipp 808s), but worried that may would hurt the rim to have them on hooks, so I just have them sitting for now.

For hanging, do you just use one hook or split the weight over two?

Thanks!

I just let mine deflate...right now they're on the bike. If I want to ride it, I fill em and go. When they aren't being used (i.e. out of season) they hang on a hook in  the garage. If there are two free hooks, I use two, if not, I use one.

Thanks Rocker - that sounds like a plan.  I'll look for a way to get 'em up cozy on a wall. Heck, they cost a helluva lot more than anything else I have hanging on a wall - I guess they deserve to be appropriately displayed! Laughing
