Subject: RE: 8 Week Sprint to Oly plan?goisles26 - 2009-07-20 10:52 AM As the subject implies, I just finished a sprint yesterday and have eight weeks to gear up for an Oly. Has anyone on BT successfully made the jump in two months (I'm sure people have)? Any plans that work will for it, or should I just jump into a longer Oly plan at the 8 weeks remaining part? I am doing the same. First sprint this Sat, then an Oly Sept 25th. I ran a half mary about a month ago, so I am not very concerned about my aerobic conditioning. I have little doubt that I can put in a 3-3.5 hour effort. I do think my speed will suffer. I believe my potential is greater than the effort I will be able to put in with only 8 weeks to train. My goal is to feel good enough at the finish that I am excited about next years race season. I have just finished reading "the triathletes training bible", and like it a lot. It gives you the tools to make your own training program. For me, I will be doing Base 3, Build 1 and Peak periods prior to the Oly. Good luck |
