I get a lot of pain in my hands when I bike; I bought gloves, change my grip throughout my rides, make sure I'm not holding on too tight; still have pain. Any suggestions?

Katy - Where exactly is the pain in your hands, wrist, palms, fingers, etc. PM me, I live in Branchburg, if you want we could ride one day sometimes having someone watch what you are doing/position on the bike helps.

What do you do for your work, I am developing carpal tunnel due to spending a great deal of time on a keyboard at work. I find that biking can make my symptoms flare up. Riding in aero helps me now that getting used to it, I don’t get pain as often.

The pain is in my finger joints; I am on a computer for a good portion of each workday; maybe that has something to do with it. Anything I can do for it?

I've been told by the woman at my LBS vitamin B and try to relax your grip. Other than that not knowing what your riding can't tell you much. If its CTS a visit to your doctor may be able to provide some help, egronomic aids for your computer station may help delay the onset of CTS if its comming.

I was diagnosed with CTS approx 3 years ago. Outside of the ergonomic aids on my computer, the doctor also recommended sleeping with braces (wrist strap stablizers) on my hands the days I have pains and that definitely has helped (you can buy them in most drug stores).

Of course the doctor also recommended one of the following three treatments: steriods for a week, cortisone shot or surgery...and the test to determine if you have CTS is sooooo wonderful

Good luck.
