Subject: Need some Input on swimming..
Hey guys,
Everyone on here has been so helpful so I thought I would get some input on my swimming.

I just started my training about three weeks ago and everything is going fine except for my swimming.  I am on a very basic swimming plan and I am unable to complete that.  I feel comfortable in the water but I just don't have any endurance or tech.  The gym I currently attend has a great indoor pool but doesn't offer any lessons.

It has been suggested to try the YMCA.  I called them and they only offer one class per week for adults and you have to buy a membership to the YMCA, along with purchasing the swimming program.  I would rather not spend so much money on a class that meets one night a week and still have my membership at a different gym.  I just don't know if I will get what I need from the class.
So my question is,  would the class be worth it or should I try to find another means of training lessons?

ANY input is greatly appreciated.   If anyone knows of a club/coach North of Cinci, please point me in the right direction.
     Thanks,
            Datafur

First, getting swim lessons was all the difference in the world for me.  Having someone knowledgable watching me and telling me what I was doing right/wrong was great.  Keep looking for an instructor.  Check with your local Tri group to see if they know of someone.  Is there a board at your gym you can post asking if anyone gives swim lessons?  Paying for a double membership does not make sense but lessons really do help.

Hey Buddy: i am a rookie but i am a very good swimmer and  i train at the local county pool for only $10.00 a year. check on your city's or county's  official page and more than i am sure you will find the local pools. i don't have to take classes but in most places they offer clases for adults at a reasonable price. and don't worry about it we all have our own demons, in my case is the running!!!! i wish you the best and i hope i was able to help even in a small way.
