Subject: RE: Minimalist Shoesbriandelmo - 2009-07-25 11:28 PM I wore asics nimbus for about a week. I ran barefoot 2 weeks prior to getting the VFF and about 4 weeks on the VFF If your still getting sore after only 2 miles your not fully adjusted to the lower heels yet. With 4 weeks till race day that doesn't leave you a lot of time to adjust and be at full race speed. I would still run in your VFF a little but mostly run in your old shoes if they dont hurt your feet. Finish the race in your old shoes and then make a gradual switch over to the VFF with no races looming so you have plenty of time. I wouldn't buy an in-between shoe unless you really have too as you will still have to get used them also. The thinnest lightest racing flats will be closest to the VFF's but there are some flats that are thicker also. The Nike Free and Newtons are closer to trainers than the racing flat kind of shoes. I'm waiting on some VFF kso's right now... want to try them for trail running. What did you think of the barefoot running ? |
