Subject: Hard Bike Case
I am researching over internet all the models for bike cases to bring my bike over on a flight.
I am interested in the best solution for dismounting the minimal parts from the bike: I know that some models let you removing only the wheels. Some of them mention it but I am not sure if it is true.
I have a carbon road bike and a alu tri bike, 54". It would be great to have a solution working for both.
Any suggestion?

I have two Nashbar cases that we bought about 5-6 years ago. Done about 8 trips across the Atlantic with them and they've stood up to the abuse just fine (not to mention that the bikes are still perfect!). All I have to remove are the wheels and the handlebars (basically just remove them from the stem). Takes all of about 5 minutes to put together again. To make sure the bars are perfectly aligned, I take a piece of masking tape across the front of the bars and the stem, to assemble, you just need to line the tape up again and you are set.

My case is basically a Nashbar re-branded Thule case.

thanks for your post but it seems that Nashbar is not easy to find here in Europe...

Maybe not the Nashbar rebranded version, but you can find Thule pretty much anywhere... same case and it works great! Thule is a Swedish company, but I would look for it in Germany (usually best prices).
