I'm training for my first triathlon which is coming up next month up at Harriman Park.  About 4 weeks ago I went up there to try out the bike leg and realized that the hills up there are KILLERS!!  Ever since I've been going up at least once a week to ride the bike leg so I will be able to finish those big hills without having to walk my bike up.  Each time I've been up there I inevitably get passed by several guys on their bikes particularly up the big climb on Tiorati Rd.  But each time they have always had a friendly comment or encouraging words for me.  I often find myself talking to God, "OH GOD PLEASE LET ME MAKE IT UP THIS HILL!"  but these "men of Harriman" have been so wondeful at giving me that little extra boost that has helped me make it up those hills every time.  I just wanted to put a THANK YOU out into the world just in case any of them happen to be reading so they know just how much that little "YOU GO GIRL!"  really helps Smile

haha! I have blogged about those hills, and yes - I remember one workout, I kept hearing someone grunting "jesus....jesus...jesus...jesus..." and later realized it was ME. Embarassed As much as I feel I am going to truly die doing those hills, I feel so great and accomplished when done. I so look forwardto the day when I can do them "quietly"!Laughing

OMG!  Seriously when I am on that course there are times when I feel I am spinning and going no where or worse going backwards!  I need to find a flat sprint for next time!  I hear there's one in Staten Island called the "Pancake Tri" b/c it's flat as a pancake.  SIGN ME UP!
