Subject: Help a noob set up a Trainer
I just bought a used Elite Mag trainer off of craigslist and as craigslist things go there is no manual.  So I have a few questions on how best to set it up.

It has an adjustment screw to bring the roller up to the wheel.  How snug against the wheel should the roller be?

How tight should the rear wheel skewer be?  It seems like it can squish my rear wheel together if I tighten it too much.

My previous trainer wasn't at all this nice, so I'm a bit confused.

Thanks

You only need enough pressure to stop the wheel from slipping; this is usually one to two turns after the roller makes contact with the tire. Also, keep tire pressure around what you normally have (probably about 100psi). Best investment you can possible do is to get a trainer tire...

A normal tire will wear out very quick, plus you will very likely get black rubber all over your floors.

Thanks for the help.

I'll probably switch to a trainer only tire once the weather turns bad here (November) otherwise it will just be used sporadically with my road tire.
