I pulled a muscle in my thigh the Saturday before my last race. Only hurt when I ran so I raced anyway. I'm in PT now and the Therapist who also does Tri says I'll be good to go for Spetember.

I know someone had a flat in transition before the race started . When I was walking out of the transition after I set up all my stuff I heard a loud pop, few seconds later you could hear over the PA “Will bib # report to the transition area your tire just blew up.”

Yeah, I haven't done any of this... yet!

But, lately I've been having trouble getting my rear wheel on after switching wheels to ride my trainer.   It'll work fine til I try to crank up a hill then it slips and the tire rubs on the frame.  Not enough to notice other than I'm working awful hard and going awful slow!  So last race hubby said he'd make sure I got it on properly -- he has no trouble with it -- but he forgot and wandered off to his volunteer duties.  Luckily I remembered and took it out for a spin after setting up TZ and it took 3 tries of cranking hard on a hill and getting off to mess with it to finally get it right.  Good thing cuz there was a killer hill in this race! I was definitely warmed up after that.

Otherwise [knocking on wood] I'm very obsessive compulsive about practicing my transitions the evening before the race and putting stuff where I'll trip over it as I walk out the door before I go to bed so I haven't forgotten anything .... yet.

I showed up a bit rushed to transition and clipped my shoes in backwards, only to discover my error at the mount line.

Now I triple check.

I have an ingrown toenail right now...on my left big toe. It's getting worse all the time, and I have an event in Sept. Trying to decide if I have time to get it fixed by the MD before it. If not, I don't know if it'll be too bad to run on by then anyway.

Note to self: Add "load gear bag in car" to checklist; then,

staple race checklist to forehead this Friday night

My left shoulder siezed up the day before an Ironman.  I could not move my left arm at all or turn my neck.  One paniced phone call to a chiropractor, many tears, followed by an emergency trip to a sport therapist later it felt a bit better.  I woke up on IM morning and it had siezed again.  I just kept telling myself it was stress and would be gone on the start line.

Getting into my wetsuit was interesting - but what do you know, but the time I was standing on the start line it had dissapeared.

I was stung by a bee in my cheek during the bike leg of my race this past weekend.  I finshed the race, but today I look like someone punched me.
