Lake Quanapoag Swimmers

I have never swam there - I am doing the labor day race there - maybe you can pick that route? I heard its a nice race so I am guessing not so "weed" filled?

I swim there - well, haven't done much ows this year...but have the last two years.  There is a lot of grass in the margins but the water is clear & clean once you're out past the shoreline.  I've only swam from the shore by the entry (to the right of the beach area if you're looking at the lifeguard stand) to the three colored canoes on the other side...I turn around there and go back & forth until I reach my time.  My BF swims in a circle, turning left at those canoes, parallel to the shoreline until he nears the boat launch and turns back and comes home.  Good stuff out there, phenomenal biking in those parts too.
