Removing sleeves from Dive Skin??

I have a 1.0 mil dive skin (thin wetsuit)....that I bought a while back to keep the jellyfish off me when I was free diving. Needless to say...it didn't get worn very much. But that was years ago and now that I am getting into Triathlons....I got it down of the closet.

As far as looks go...it really reminds me of the pictures I have seen on Triathlon wetsuits....but it is long sleeve and a little tight in the shoulders. My thought was that I could cut off the sleeves and use it for triathlons. I looked around on the internet and didn't find much but did see a couple of discussion where they said as long as you used a good razor you could cut wetsuits and they will not fray.

Does anyone have experience with this?
