Are there any Sodus Bay veterans out there? I'm curious about the course layout. Is it a tactical layout or can you mash away on the bike? Also what about elevation change, are there any monster climbs?

Sorry, just saw this thread. Hopefully it will get to you before the morning.

The swim can be VERY ROUGH.

There's a decent amount of hills to contend with in the beginning of the bike (1-3 miles). Then one before coming back in before the run.

The run has 1 steeper but shorter hill that you repeat twice.

Thanks for the run down of the course. While I didn't catch it before the race, it is pretty close to what you laid out. It was a nice event. I hope your day went well.

Well, we were treated to a smelly mucky beach, but can't complain about the water conditions otherwise. Also a change in the bike course (for the better I will say).

I hope you had a good race as well. Other than the heat, I can't complain, as I PR'd. I guess going on your honeymoon the week before a race helps out in the long run.

The beach was an interesting surprise. I also now know who you are. I spoke to you as we started the first lap of the run, right after the first water station. I was asking about who's idea the triathlon was and when you were married. Awesome job with the PR! Best of luck with your marriage. As a side note, I'm just about to celebrate my first year wedding anniversary so I can appreciate the joyous emotions.

Hey... awesome, as I can put a face to the name as well. Still wish I didn't roll my ankle when I was talking to you, damn thing is still sore. Are you planning on any other tri's around the Rochester/Finger Lakes region the rest of the season?

It was all his idea :-) Of course, I was MORE than willing to try it out 4 years ago, and even more willing to do the race during our honeymoon!  lol

Congrats on your one year and an awesome race Smile
