Alot of talk about pronate(ing) ect.  and motion control shoes.  Does anyone have expirence with inserts like the "Walk Fit" or "Phase Four"  orthodic insert to get lined up.  Do they help???  is it a cheaper alternative to expensive shoes.

Here another option, if your insurance covers it. See a podiatrist and see if you can get custom insoles. More efficient that OTC othotics and can't beat custom.

definately second that. I know several people that have spent close to the cost of custom orthodics doing trial and error with running store types. Mine have lasted a lot longer than any 'off the shelf' types too - it's easy to see why when you look at them (they are rigid fiberglass, not just varying thickness padding).

My insurance doesn't cover them any more, but I'll still probably buy another set.
