This is a small race in the town I grew up in, only about 100 or so people. I had planned to take it out slow, roughly 9:30-9:45 miles and then try to turn it on closer to the end. I ended up meeting a guy I graduated from high school with and ran with him. This made me push harder than I would have on my own. First mile was under 9, two miles was 18:01. I was hoping to finish this race in under 48 minutes so needless to say I am happy with my performance.

Nothing, I'm happy with my performance on this race.

Had some water, a bananna and a couple cookies.


Most of my runs are 5k distance, I don't run 5 miles very often. I need to push up my mileage to get faster at this distance.


This race was $10. I got a T-shirt, there were 3 aid stations on the course, people reading a stopwatch at every mile and there was food and drink after the race. I am impressed with everything included for the price. It was a really nice low key small event.
