Subject: Taking the bike for a walk....

For the longest time I've seen cyclist/triathletes push their bikes from the seat and always thought that was just too cool.  I found I could only do that as long as there were no turns or curbs.  But I have found that the more I do it, the easier it becomes.  I can now hop curbsand go around corners w/o any trouble.  Once I learned the feel and balance of the bike, it became very easy.  This probably came so easy for most of  you...but I've never been very coordinated and suck at anything requiring hand/eye coordination or balance.

i am right there with you!  an old boyfriend used to impress me with his bike walking prowess- i just figured it was a guy thing I'd never learn
I can do it looking cool now too, but occasionally i still run into things though....
(but that's OK- I run into things regardless of whether the bike is around anyway)

your headtube angle and trail can affect how twitchy your steering is, as well as your aerobar setup. That has an effect on how easy it is to push by the seat.
