Event warmup:

Very short run.

Did a couple of swim sprints right before our wave started.
Swim
  • 33m 27s
  • 1640 yards
  • 02m 02s / 100 yards
Comments:

Pretty good swim. Got stuck behind a few packs.
Tried a buoy trick my coach taught me. It helped me lose one pack.

On the swim out, I smacked a boulder with my hand. Totally shocked me as I did not expect any boulders. And then on teh way back, I found what must have been the only other boulder in the lake. I jammed my hand and it hurt on the pull for a minute or two.
What would you do differently?:

Need to work on bilateral breathing. And boulder avoidance.
Transition 1
  • 02m 55s
Comments:

This is a long transition. You get to run with your bike for a bit.
What would you do differently?:

I need to learn top put my shoes on the bike. Especially fo rthese long haul transitions.
Bike
  • 1h 04m 12s
  • 24.85 miles
  • 23.22 mile/hr
Comments:

What happens when you crush the bike? Well, nothing good on the run!
What would you do differently?:

Just because you can does not mean you should. I really need to learn to pace the bike better.
I wonder if I went just a bit slower how much time would I save on the run?
Transition 2
  • 01m 50s
Run
  • 59m 21s
  • 6.21 miles
  • 09m 34s  min/mile
Comments:

I really need to work on my run. Adn I need to work on my bike pacing.
I suppose at this distance it might not have that much of an impact. I am doing a 1/2 next week and I better pace the bike a lot better than I did today.
What would you do differently?:

I need to dig a little deeper on teh run.
Post race
Warm down:

Enjoyed soem free Fat Tire at the post race area.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

My run

Event comments:

They really go all out on this race. The post race activities are among the best at any race i have ever done.

I heard about that boulder from a couple of other friends, thankfully I somehow avoided it! Congrats on the race, you were hauling on that bike split! What 1/2 are you doing?
