My swimming improved vastly, due to two factors: I figured out how to fit my wetsuit on properly, meaning the arms didn't fill up with water, and the water temperature was much warmer than it had been in early June. These two things enabled me to actually maintain a proper swim stroke for the swim, and that cut over 5 minutes off my previours swim time.

Again, the lack of fitness really hurt me here. It was great to pass my dad on the first lap and have him tell me that I could reach the 1:30 mark. Obviously I didn't, but I probably ran a lot faster than I would have otherwise.
