Just curious. Since you can't put a pump in your gear bag, and can't leave anything in your transition space, what do you do with your bike pump on race day, or do you just borrow a pump from someone? Or do you just hope your tires stay inflated!

Some people bring pumps in and hand them off to a spectator.  There is also bike tech support in transition with pumps (at least at IMAZ), but the line might be long.

IMLP I probably had to wait 5-6 people and Canada 2-3 people.

It is standard that the bike techs are in transition before the race to help folks with issues as well as pump up tires.

brought mine in and handed it off to my husband (at cda). there were a fair number of people asking to use the pump so after letting 5-6 people use it, I handed it off quick so I didn't get stuck in transition trying to get my pump back all morning! glad I had it so I didn't have to go looking for one

Yep.  I politely asked a guy behind me that brought a pump in if I could use his tire pump.  Triathletes are the friendliest people around.

The guys from Elite bikes were pumping up tires at IMLP.  I got to transition early and didn't have to wait.  I think by 6:15am there were maybe 10-15 people in line.
