Iron_Gus - 2009-10-01 4:58 PM I don't know what to expect anymore. I haven't reached a goal in a few months. I will be little more conservative this month and say four pounds.

Starting Weight: 272lbs
Goal Weight: 268lbs

A pound a week should be a soda for someone my size..... (famous last words)[/QUOTE

Good plan Iron,  Take it easy and lose slow and steady.

Lisa B,  I don't care if you want to lose 1 pound or 100 it is the commitment that counts so welcome to team skinny.  Congrats on the HIM.

it's easy to ignore the creep.

who here weighs often so the creep doesn't happen?  i avoid the scale which i know i shouldn't when i'm not eating right.  what gets me back on track is stepping on that dreaded scale and facing the music.

No one in this group would ever ignore the scale,  Right?

I weigh myself almost daily, but since I can (and regularly do) fluctuate daily within a four or five pound range, it is hard to know what gain is real and what is just hydration or whatever.  By the time I have decided something is "creep" and not hydration, it seems to be firmly and more or less permanently attached to my hips.

I also weigh daily, but I try not to pay much attention to fluctuations of a few pounds or less. As long as the overall trend is in the right direction, it's fine with me. I'm getting close to my goal weight. I figure the last few pounds will be relatively slow to leave, so I set a very modest weight loss goal of only 2 lbs this month. What I hope to see when I step on the scale in the morning is no change. I don't get too worked up about one lb higher than the day before. Two pounds makes me worry, but probably shouldn't . But sometimes it does help serve as a wake-up call that I need to be a little more mindful of what I'm eating. A lower number makes me do the happy dance (even though that could just be natural fluctuation, too)!

Chocolate bender continues: Day 4. I'm thinking this 400g over my September goal will be right back in this Wednesday. Well at least it won't be a surprise.

Also ended up in A&E on Friday after about a week of on/off chest pains (in the same area as previously). Got tested and sent home because, and here I quote, " It's not another clot, most likely, but we don't know why you're experiencing the pain. It's possibly the sign of your lung healing". Right so. I keep monitoring the situation but I don't like this at all.

I also weigh myself daily,  but it hasn't helped much lately..sigh.  Maybe I should start smoking again until my weight goes down.

Or maybe just do the "Happy Dance" and burn more calories.

Yeah I do get good ideas sometimes. So whenever you want a cigarette do the Happy Dance - if people start staring just tell them it's your idiosyncratic way of quitting smoking

I wish I could just stop eating chocolate and sweeties - quitting smoking compared to that was easy!

Any room for one more? Stood on the scale yesterday for the first time in a month and was shocked. Stunned. Horrified.

And that was after my run.

Got any Duct tape?  Put that across your mouth and take it off a few times and you won't want to eat anything..

Hmm, sounds like an extreme form of waxing That could work as a short-term solution but I'm still on the quest for the Holy Grail of all chococholics (and sweetocholics)- getting rid of sweets cravings all together. Maybe a vaccine administered shortly after birth....
