Swim
Comments: The course was very calm, however the bouys were placed so close to shore that the second sandbar was in the course. A lot of racers wre standing throughout the race and using the ground to dive forward. I resisted temptation and swam the whole leg What would you do differently?: I would have stayed closer to the buoys by sighting more often and making sure I was on track. Transition 1
Comments: T1 was fairly smooth. I had a great bike location and it was easy to find and get in and out of.probably was a little slow with the socks, but all in all, it was not too bad What would you do differently?: nothing, just go faster Bike
Comments: The bike portion always kicks my $%#$#. I kept at about 15 MPH, which is improving, but very slowly. What would you do differently?: I would use a camelback to keep more water readily at hand (or mouth) and add an energy gel midway through the race Transition 2
Comments: good transition, dropped off the bike and got right on the run course What would you do differently?: nothing Run
Comments: Very slow on the run. Just had no power in the legs after the ride. Kept plodding along and started to get a little pop in my stride toward the very end of the race What would you do differently?: energy gel and more water Post race
Warm down: walked and drank water. After I had cooled down, got a slice of pizza and headed home What limited your ability to perform faster: Hydration Event comments: Did not want to get up and race that morning, never felt like I hit my stride during the race, but sometimes those are the days that it is the best accomplishment to actually finish Last updated: 2005-05-24 12:00 AM
