Comments: nice run. 7:15 is a hard pace for me to crank out. i only ran that one other time in training, so i wasnt expecting much faster in this race. i started about front 1/3rd pack, and slowly passed a few people in the first half mile. got behind an older gentleman who was doing my same pace and passed him near the turnaround. but afterwards, i just couldnt hold it together and he passed me back and my mile times were falling. my first mile was a 6:50. second mile was 7:20. third mile was 8:20. What would you do differently?: get in some longer distances so that im not getting burned out on the third mile so bad. Post race
Warm down: none What limited your ability to perform faster: nothing. it went exactly the way i train. Event comments: nice race. thanks to those who give their time. this was my first 5k race and i enjoyed it. Last updated: 2009-09-28 12:00 AM

woke up at 6:15. ate oatmeal. ate a granola bar about 1/2 hour before race.
rode bike from home to the event. about a 6-7 mile trip. just rode very leisurely as not to burn out my legs, but to loosen up since i hadnt really worked out hard this week. no stretching or running.
