Subject: RE: day before race day workout moonsegason - 2009-10-04 10:49 AM On my workout schedule it will have either 2 days or the day before a race a workout where I do a swim, bike and run. but all it will say is Run: warm up 5 min, 5 x 1 minute fast! cool down 5 minutes; Swim: warm up 5 min, 6 x 50 fast! cool down 5 min; Bike: warm up 5 min, 5 x 2 min fast! cool down 5 min. When they say fast do they mean race pace or all out sprint? I would assume doing all out sprints would burn me out before the race but being a newbie at this thought I better ask before attempting it. Thank you My coach has always had me workout the day before a race..typically at the race site if possible.. She has do me do few accellerations while doing the workout,...for the bike, I just practice getting up to race speed a few times..and hte run a few sprints..not totally all out ,but definately sprinting.. I personally think it is good to do a short workout of each the day before, it always works for me... |
