Swim
  • 28m 12s
  • 1500 meters
  • 01m 53s / 100 meters
Transition 1
  • 02m 6s
Comments:

I wasn't sure if I was going to go with arm warmers, a long sleeve top or nothing until I got into transition...long sleeve top!!! It was COLD and WINDY!!! Not a super speedy transition, but I'm a little rusty not having raced since may!
Bike
  • 1h 13m
  • 24.85 miles
  • 20.42 mile/hr
Comments:

Good enough bike...took my tired and cold legs 45 min to warm up!!! no taper and cool temps will do that to you! Once I warmed up I felt good!! There were head and tail winds as we looped, and coming down the bridge a pretty good crosswind that had me a little nervous about my wobbly bike!!!! got out of aero for that...I was being blown all over the place.
What would you do differently?:

not much, think I pushed as much as I could and did ok for the conditions. Not my fastest bike but I'm happy with this performance.
Transition 2
  • 01m 5s
Comments:

fine transition..no flying dismount or anything but it was an ok transition...removed my long sleeve top for the run.
Run
  • 46m 15s
  • 6.21 miles
  • 07m 27s  min/mile
Comments:

Had a great run...I felt like I was flying for much of it...just passing people, turning the heat on and off...took in right amount of calories...pushed it but was never miserable..this was a great run for me...and a PR :)
What would you do differently?:

nada.
Post race
Warm down:

coffee and long sleeves!

What limited your ability to perform faster:

weather conditions were tough, especially given the last 3 weeks here training in HOT and HUMID weather.

Event comments:

DO THIS RACE!!!!! THey planted a tree for every athlete :) Almost 900 of them. Love that!!! Post race they had a nice spread with beans and rice...I couldn't stay for the fun :( This is a great race put on by the same folks that put on MIT, and it's a lovely course, especially the run, which is mostly on a soft dirt path. So glad I did this race!

Course: out, turn right and swim parallel to shore, then turn in...I felt like a newbie!! Totally clueless looking for the bouys..there was a medium chop, and it was still not bright out...so it was hard to stay on track. not my best swim, not my worst...the swimming part I did pretty good, the navigation part I sucked!

Fantastic race Mimi! Big congrats on the run PR. I sure did get lucky picking my BT mentor! Our two recent oly races even appear very similar except that you're way to good/smart to have a five minute T1...
